SCHMIDTY TUNING POWERED CT4-V BLACKWINGS ARE FINALLY HERE!
Owners, if your amazing CT4-V Blackwing is stock tuned, tuned by other tuners, or if you run worrisome piggy-back systems on your car— then you have not nearly experienced the full power potential & exhilaration hidden within your CT4-V Blackwing! So, Schmidty Tuning is proud to announce & partner with HP Tuners to offer full remote performance tuning support for the newer generation of "GM Global B Vehicles" which utilize the "E99 Electronic Control Module (ECM)" & "T93 Transmission Control Module (TCM)".
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO GET STARTED WITH SCHMIDTY TUNING:
If your CT4-V Blackwing happens to be a 10-speed automatic transmission car, you will need to have both, your ECM & TCM unlocked. If your Blackwing is a 6-speed manual transmission car, you will only need to unlock your ECM. We will discuss more of this below.
• For E99 ECM Unlock Service— you can order HERE
• For T93 TCM Unlock Service— you can order HERE
This "unlocking" service provided by HP Tuners is required to enable the data diagnostic features & the full-performance tuning capabilities of HP Tuners VCM Suite BETA Software, which is what we utilize to tune our Team Schmidty Tuning Members' V-Series Cadillacs.
To performance tune your CT4-V Blackwing, once you've unlocked your necessary control modules, you will need the newest HP Tuners MPVI3 OBDII Interface Unit to connect to a Microsoft Windows-Operated laptop or tablet. The older HP Tuners MPVI & MPVI2 Interfaces & RTD units will not work/sync to the new Global-B ECM/TCM's. You must use the new MPVI3 Interface. If you need to purchase the MPVI3 Interface, you can do so— HERE. You will also need to download & install the latest HP Tuners VCM Suite BETA Software mentioned above to your laptop/tablet— HERE.
Moving forward in the process, both automatic & manual transmission cars will then need to purchase eight(8) HP Tuner's "Universal Credits" to "license" your Blackwing's E99 ECM. For the 10-speed automatic transmission owners, you will also need to purchase an additional four(4) more HP Tuner's "Universal Credits" to also "license" your car's T93 ECM. As a reminder, manual transmission cars do not need the extra credit purchases from HP Tuners, being that only your car's E99 ECM needs unlocked & not your transmission module. So, in summary, A10 Blackwings will need a total of twelve(12) HP Tuners Universal Credits, while M6 Blackwings only need eight(8) HP Tuners Universal Credits to completely license your Blackwing for performance tuning.
If you already own an MPVI3 Interface, you can purchase any additional HP Tuners Universal Credits anytime— HERE.
As with all Schmidty Tuned LF3/LF4 cars, you will need a set of fresh spark plugs. Their side electrodes will need gapped down & tightened up to handle the forthcoming increased turbo boost & power from your Schmidty performance tune! We recommend NGK-95605 plugs gapped to ".024".
You can purchase these spark plugs— HERE.
Once you have all of this in order & are ready to feel the true power potential of your CT4-V Blackwing's Twin Turbo LF4 powered by Schmidty Tuning, you can purchase your tune— HERE!

BASIC TWIN TURBO LF3/LF4 PERFORMANCE TUNING OPTIONS:
When it comes to modifying your CT4-V Blackwing, the performance pathways mirror what we recommend for the CT4-V Blackwing's previous generation LF4 predecessor the ATS-V. One component that Cadillac decided to upgrade on the Blackwing that typically needs addressed on ATS-V's that are looking to run higher percentages of E85 for Schmidty Flex Fuel Tuning, are the fuel pumps. The Blackwing is outfitted with stronger OEM pumps than the ATS-V. Thus, upgrading the Blackwing's fueling components for higher percentages of E85 tuning is something that we do not need to address as soon as we typically would for an ATS-V Team Schmidty Member looking to go beyond the power capabilities of lower-content percentage Flex Fuel Tuning, with the goal of running higher-content levels of E85— which achieves & supports higher boost levels.
Otherwise, when it comes to a "Stage 1 Package", we would only recommend a few items. Such as: downpipes, soler throttle body upgrade & new spark plugs as mentioned above to accommodate a full performance 91-93 Octane Schmidty Tune. This basic set-up typically results in 500 RWHP or more (on 93 octane). With a Schmidty Flex Fuel 30% E85 blend, under this same basic set-up, we can reach the 550 RWHP mark or more.
For those Blackwing owners wanting to take their Blackwing to the next performance tier (Stage 2 Package), we would recommend adding an XDI High Pressure Fuel Pump, which you can purchase— HERE. This will allow for higher E85 content (50-60% E85 blend) which will support a ramping-up of additional boost levels. This simple & basic build sheet typically results in power levels around the 600 RWHP mark or higher.
If an owner wants to go even further in their LF4 power pursuit, we recommend & have seen fantastic results on the LF4 engine with upgraded larger turbos, such as those made by TurboBay or Caddy Issues. Along with the larger turbo upgrades, you will need an upgraded fuel cam lobe which you can purchase here— XDI 21% fuel cam lobe, as well as larger fuel injectors— XDI injectors to increase the fueling needed to support the major increase in turbo boost. For a full parts-list of all components that we recommend to more safely run these power levels— feel free to reach out to us to discuss your goals!
